Movie star Charles Cartwright's houseguests drink martinis: clear, cold. . .and one of them poisoned. Rev. Babbington imbibes the fatal cocktail. But who would want to kill a kindly old clergyman? It's a mystery. Luckily, one of the guests is Hercule Poirot, so fans know it won't stay a mystery forever! This screen version of Agatha Christie's novel features two stars ideal for their roles: Peter Ustinov as Poirot, a character he played in "Death on the Nile," and Tony Curtis as the ultra-Hollywood Cartwright. The setting is a posh villa in Acapulco, where suspects and motives abound. . .and where the puzzle grows more puzzling when one of the guests hosts a second party, promising a surprise. A surprise is what everyone gets: another corpse. Grab your favorite libation (cold or hot, but certainly not poisoned) and enjoy!
