Description

In the not too distant future, wars no longer exist. But there will be ROLLERBALL! The nations of the world no longer exist. In their place, humanity is now controlled by powerful corporations that provide the population with essential necessities such as food, energy and transport, but leave no room for individualism and self-determination. To keep the crowds happy and avoid riots, the brutal and bloody team sport of ROLLERBALL was created. Jonathan E. (James Caan) is the celebrated star of the sport that has people at its feet. When his influence seems to be growing too big, the corporations begin to see him as a serious threat. In secret, they forge a perfidious plan to put the top athlete out of action. But Jonathan has withstood tougher attacks in the arena and finally decides to fight back.
