Description

När USA:s farligaste fångar ska föras till ett nytt, supersäkert fängelse med det specialbyggda transportflyget Con Air finns den villkorligt frigivna Cameron Poe (Oscarbelönade Nicolas Cage) ombord. Plötsligt dras han in i ett hänsynslöst kapardrama då en grupp fångar under ledning av Cyrus "The virus" (John Malkovich), tar vakterna som gisslan. På marken kämpar polisen Vince Larkin (John Cusack) för att beveka kaparna och samtidigt avstyra sina nitiska överordnade från att spränga planet i luften. Poe och Larkin tvingas samarbeta för att stoppa Cyrus och de brutala livstidsfångarna, för att förhindra ett blodbad när det sönderskjutna planet kommer till Las Vegas.
